Are you a seeking to find a way to help children and/or adolescents through psychotherapy?
This aim of this blog is to reflect upon the practice of integrative child psychotherapy. It is written primarily for those new to working with children in therapy, but may also be of interest to seasoned therapists curious about working with children or those simply interested in what integrative child psychotherapy is.
I am UKCP registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Dramatherapist, whom has been working therapeutically with children and adolescents for over 20 years. I teach and examine on integrative child therapy trainings at Cambridge University and The Institute for Arts in Psychotherapy and Education, London. This blog is a way to capture much of what I share with my students quite spontaneously in our discussions. Currently there is very little written about Integrative Child Psychotherapy in the UK. This blog seeks to address in some small way that gap. To share what so many of us are doing and to grapple with what it means to be an integrative practitioner.
I hope this blog challenges and inspires, questions and creates debate and ultimately helps to build a sense of the growing community of integrative child psychotherapists and counsellors serving children and their families in the UK.
